Today's AAA National Average $3.722 Price as of 10/7/23

That's the average, not the cheapest. I stand by my statement that you can get gas at $2.99/gal at half of all US states if you shop around. Here are some cheap prices I found on gasbuddy.com.

Georgia $2.69 Costco, Cumming GA
Illinois $2.99 Murphy USA, Effingham IL
Kansas $2.87 Sam's Club, Wichita, KS
Mississippi $2.76 Sam's Club, Southaven MS
Texas $2.69 Citgo, Houston TX
Virginia $2.99 Dodge's, Norfolk VA
Wisconsin $2.89 Costco, Menomonee Falls WI

I'll leave it up to the readers here to find the cheapest prices in their state using gasbuddy.com.

Great on the price of insulin but prices on COPD inhalers and related RX have gone up in price.

Thanks to President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare beneficiaries are already paying less out of pocket for 27 prescription drugs whose prices rose faster than inflation last year.

Seniors are seeing their cost sharing drop by between $2 and $390 per average dose for the medications, which are used by patients with several types of cancer, fungal infections, acne, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic kidney disease and urinary tract infections, among other conditions.

Prices are still high and most likely will never come back down. It is the norm now.

Except for 2009, prices have never come down over the past 50 years (since 1972). I remember when hamburgers were 50 cents, and gas was 33 cents/gal - they're never heading back down to those prices. Every new year since 1972 set a new higher normal for prices. That's how inflation works. Take a look at this chart showing inflation each year:

https://www.in2013dollars.com/us/inflation/1972?am...

You'll see that the 3.7% we have now at the far right of the chart is quite normal, and is the same as what we had in 2005, 2008 and 2011. The 8% we had in 2022 was most definitely high, but we've seen it before in the mid 70's and early 80s. People were screaming about high prices back then, too, but we had to get used to it. They never came back down.

SS recipients get an annual COLA adjustment to keep up with inflation, and last year's COLA raise was one of the biggest over. If you're not an SS recipient and you're working, you have to ask your employer for a raise that helps you pay the bills. It's always been that way. At least we don't live in Argentina where inflation hit 124% this year.

government jobs? right..more IRS jobs, just what we need.(lol)

What's with all the government bashing? Try surviving through a devastating hurricane without FEMA, or your house catching fire without a fire department.
