Special counsel David Weiss unsealed an indictment charging... no not Hunter Biden or any other of the Bidens... but charging Alexander Smirnov, 43, in connection with lying to the FBI and creating false records. He was arrested today at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas after his arrival in the US from overseas.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called Smirnov “a trusted FBI informant” who had evidence that of “a bribe to the Biden family” by Burisma and House republicans championed Smirnov and a secret star witness for over a year.

Ironically, the FBI is now using some of the same memos that congressional republicans released as evidence against the Bidens as part of their indictment against Smirnov.

Smirnov lied about the Bidens and he lied about the time window: the actions Smirnov falsely claimed happened transpired after the vice president had left office and when he no longer had any influence over foreign policy decisions.

“In truth and fact, the Defendant had contact with executives from Burisma in 2017, after the end of the Obama-Biden Administration and after the then Ukrainian Prosecutor General had been fired in February 2016, in other words, when [Joe Biden] had no ability to influence U.S. policy and when the Prosecutor General was no longer in office,” the indictment states.

It continues, “In short, the Defendant transformed his routine and unextraordinary business contacts with Burisma in 2017 and later into bribery allegations against [Joe Biden], the presumptive nominee of one of the two major political parties for President, after expressing bias against [Joe Biden] and his candidacy.”

In short, he lied and now faces up to 25 years in prison.
