Arguing over fatal, painful/painless doses....

It’s getting macabre.

If that state was intent on effective, painless executions, all they would need would be an easy chair, soft music in the background and a box of fentanyl transdermal patches.

Apply one transdermal patch, lead the convicted to the easy chair, turn on the soft music, apply another two patches. then another two a few minutes later if convict is still conscious. Convict nods out. Then apply ten more patches. Check pulse.

No need for a table, straps, bright lights, tubes, needles or other paraphernalia.

All you need are the patches and the stethoscope.

Convict just slips off into the twighlight. He or she may even enjoy the ride.

But of course, we can’t have that. We want gasping for breath or the smell of burned flesh.
