The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

commonone: So, tell us, which president had the most refugees admitted into the United States in that six-year span?

It appears President Trump helped refugees more than Biden. Good on President Trump.

Snip
'Who is a refugee?
A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her country because of persecution, war or violence. A refugee has a well-founded fear of persecution for reasons of race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Most likely, they cannot return home or are afraid to do so. War and ethnic, tribal and religious violence are leading causes of refugees fleeing their countries.

52% of all refugees and other people in need of international protection come from just three countries: Syria, Ukraine, and Afghanistan.'

On the other hand Biden is doing his best to allow illegal aliens into America
Snip
'What's the difference between legal and undocumented immigrants?
Legal immigrants are foreign-born people legally admitted to the U.S. Undocumented immigrants, also called illegal aliens, are foreign-born people who do not possess a valid visa or other immigration documentation, because they entered the U.S. without inspection, stayed longer than their temporary visa permitted, or otherwise violated the terms under which they were admitted.'
