Could be……

A new naval, modular vessel that can operate either with a crew or autonomously

Depends on how cheaply they can build it, and how soon.

One vessel- many roles. Just switch out the modules.

Not a silver bullet, but it could be a swarm of bronze bullets.

Only time will tell if it’s a pipe dream…. Or workhorse:

The navy doesn’t have a great track record lately. They seem to be falling for the latest shiney object instead of a functional and effective tool to wage war.

I’m looking at you, Zumwalt and LCS.

So my money is on pipe dream. A very expensive one at that.
