note, a few of the small additions are NOT new buys. It's a paperwork increase via subs etc.

"Note to Dataroma users regarding Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio - Portfolio

Berkshire is now including the portion of its holdings that was previously reported separately, under the subsidiary, New England Asset Management, in its portfolio submission:

"Since Berkshire Hathaway Inc. ("Berkshire") acquired General Re Corp. ("Gen Re") (Form 13F File #028-04922) in December 1998, reportable 13F securities owned by Gen Re or its subsidiaries have been reported by New England Asset Management Inc. ("NEAM") (Form 13F File #028-05194), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gen Re. Those filings have been referenced in Berkshire's Forms 13F as Other Included Managers. Beginning with this Form 13F, the holdings of Gen Re will be included in Berkshire's 13F filing. The NEAM Form 13F filings will no longer include Gen Re's holdings but they will continue to include NEAM client holdings where NEAM is acting as an investment manager. Accordingly, this filing includes the following holdings owned by Gen Re that were formerly reported by NEAM. Apple Inc. - 20,424,207 shares Bank Amer Corp - 22,751,400 shares Chevron Corp New - 2,092,000 shares Citigroup Inc - 89,000 shares Diageo PLC - 227,750 shares HP Inc - 16,476,783 shares Markel Corp - 4,050 shares."

Prior to the most recent Berkshire filing, we were unable to add New England Asset Management's portfolio to that of Berkshire since it wasn't clear what portion of NEAM's submission belonged to Berkshire and not to its own clients.

Please bear that in mind when considering the recent Berkshire portfolio additions.

Not critical, but just curious as to why we sold 18% of our CVX as we keep slowly adding layer upon layer to our nearly 25% ownership of OXY?

Our net selling of $25B in equities over the last 2 quarters stands out to me and our >$130B Cash/eq. is far from trash now with >5% yield in ST Treasuries. Imagine there may be better opportunities as WEB thought earnings may slow in Q3 and Q4. Thoughts?
