Another DOJ prosecutor (of 20+ years tenure) has resigned.

She was asked to seize the bank account of an organization that received a federal grant during the Biden administration. The DOJ staff had looked into the issue and had determined there was no criminal activity, therefore no basis to seize the asset. An assistant Attorney General told her to do it anyway.

She refused and resigned.

This is the kind of issue that will rip up the Constitution. This is autocracy in action. This is where Congress needs to step in and be a co-equal branch of government by investigating the incident and potentially impeaching the AAG for asking an ADA to violate the constitutional rights of this organization.

11+ minutes from the MSNBC YT channel. And actually pretty laid back for MSNBC.

Lots of resignations.

I guess people are confident in finding new positions.

C’mon, Jedi. You’re not that stupid. You’re much smarter than our other resident Trump apologists, who really are rather dense.

She resigned because she didn’t want to be a party to a criminal act. And make no mistake, this is a criminal act - especially by an attorney who knows the law.

Don’t even begin to place this on her. It’s entirely on the assistant AG who ordered her to perform an illegal act.

PS - Of course she is confident in getting another job. A US attorney with her experience can get hired in as a partner in just about any big law firm and triple or quadruple her income in a heartbeat. And with all the lawsuits being filed every day against the Trump administration, she can be very busy indeed.

an ADA

Lest I incur the wrath of the board attorneys, I should correct this.

She is, of course, a US attorney (possibly an Assistant USA) and not a district attorney.

This is autocracy in action.

Yep. When and if a case is filed on this one, I'll watch it closely.
