Indeed they are relocating some immigrants from NYC to other areas, but they are also keeping several there. They are just creating options.

Adams announced this past Tuesday that "New York City will open a 24-hour center to welcome migrants and create a new agency to coordinate efforts to deal with the arrival of thousands of asylum seekers..."

The newly formed Office of Asylum Seeker Operations will coordinate the city's efforts to house migrants and provide them with access to legal services in one place, moving migrants away from the current arrival point at the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The city's new blueprint also calls for coordinating with other cities willing to accept asylum seekers and creating a partnership with the State University of New York Sullivan, which agreed to take in 100 asylum seekers who would live on the school's campus and receive work force training skills.

Adams said that the new location is part of an effort to create a strong structure to deal with a complicated issue, not a plan to shut anyone out.

With NYC's resources strained, you are criticizing Adams for having found 100 asylum seekers a situation that provides a home and meals AND training for available work? Instead of just turning them away or monolithically busing them to a city he despises?

Anyhow....the fact remains. Umm and others, for years on TMF said that "Bush's fault!" "Trump's fault!" -- when the opposition tried to blame Obama or Clinton - the Liberal response was "the buck stops here, don't blame the previous guy".

Easy solution: Liberals can just say "we went too far, blaming the incumbent for things that were going on well before he got there...." - and we can just discuss policy.

So, based on that logic it is Biden's open borders - -- DESPITE Vice President Harris's haughty, arrogant, xenophobic lectures to Guatemalans on their own soil.

As far as Biden's open borders - America is paying a price for immigration that stemmed from 3 sources: Greed, Political Correctness and a desire by some to finally dilute America -- NOT into a melting pot, but a mosaic and a polyglot. And they've succeeded. Languages, traditions, factions, castes, tribes are slowly arising.


Business loved the cheap labor. Affluent Liberals - who didn't encounter lost jobs or crowded classrooms due to certain modes of immigration, loved it - - mind you these same people can't stand H1 Legal immigration visas - cause then the Liberal gets the same competition and treatment as the middle class in America does.

So I support bringing in harder workers. People who will keep pension plans solvent. Start small businesses. BUT I favor it happening 100% legally. Furthermore - it would have to be done with ONE litmus test: Is this person a plus for America - yes or no.

I'm all for fast tracking 2-3 million immigration applications NOW.

Not exactly. Canada, New Zealand, and Australia don't require English to get a work permit, although you have to show in advance that you have work. In other circumstances for Canada you need to be able to speak either English or French, and AU and NZ have exemptions for other categories, notably students, but also others.

I am not an open borders advocate, but neither do I find your rules (or attitude) particularly helpful. Two quick examples: my wife goes to a nail salon owned by a Vietnamese woman. She came here after the fall of Vietnam speaking no English and without resources (she was temporarily sponsored by a church). She now owns the salon and employs 8-10 people.

We hire a landscaping guy who came from Central America; he is married to an English speaking Mexican woman who handles communication. He started about 10 years ago with a beat-up pickup truck; he now has three *new* trucks, brightly emblazoned with his name (Jesus. Pronounced Hay-zeus) and has a cast of workers who do exceptionally good work. Is he 'illegal'? I don't know, I know he's a hard workers who has achieved success and the American dream. He is learning English, albeit slowly, but he is trying.

I apologize that both examples are cliche, but they are true. It occurs to me that people who are willing to throw everything away and try to come here are probably more motivated than the born-in-America slacker Gen-X-Y-and-Z types who sit reading their phone while supposedly 'on the clock' at some retail outlet.

I don't really know what the answer is, but I am quite sure that you don't have it, and was anyone in power listening to your 'solutions' we would be worse, not better off.

The Mayor of New York has an initiative to build 500,000 homes for low income residents, with special programs to allow immigrants to get into the program. This is not 'anti-immigrant.'

New York has more than 3 million immigrants in a population of around 8,000,000. I'm not sure how you get that he is 'anti-immigrant', except by making things up, or more likely listening to fabulist news sources which don't care about facts.
