In the past week there were whispered rumors and conspiracies in Iran that the U.S. was using the MOU signing as an opportunity to kill Iranian leadership.

The thought was that if they could lure Iranian leadership to a specific place they could kill them. Even if it was a remote/online signing, the online document to be remotely signed was somehow hacked and broadcast the location of whomever opened it and there would be a couple of B-2s nearby that would bomb that location.

Supposedly Iran jumped through all sorts of hoops to protect their leadership for the signing. Only lower level staffers accessed the document and such.

Those were the rumors. I can see why Iran would be hugely suspicious of something happening. The U.S. gave Iran everything Iran asked for in the MOU.

I have been thinking the same thing, for a few days now. Offer Iran a "deal" so attractive, they come out of their bunkers to sign. Mossad is expert at killing people, and Israel had an incentive to kill the deal. I have even suspected that Vance is doing the gig in Switzerland, because Trump the Surrender Monkey wants to keep out of the line of fire.

According to Al Jazeera, who will be in Switzerland is becoming unclear, as the MOU was signed yesterday.

One interesting tidbit, the conference is to be in a resort owned by the Qataris. Recall, Qatar was acting as intermediary between Israel and Hamas, and the Israelis bombed the apartment complex in Qatar where the Hamas delegation was living. So, yes, the Israelis have a record of using "peace talks" as bait to draw their opponents out in the open, so they can be killed.

What we know so far about the US-Iran ceremony in Switzerland

Talks expected to begin at the Qatar-owned Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland.

Officially official, Vance cancelled trip to Switzerland. Talks postponed. Israel continuing aggression in Lebanon.

Not surprising. Now that the time-critical part is out of the way (the Strait is opened), neither the U.S. nor Iran have much incentive to rush through to the actual nuclear talks. For Trump, they're not likely to end up with anything he can trumpet as better than the JCPOA (and very well may end up with a worse outcome), so he'd like to have the ambiguity out there as long as he can. Without the spur of high oil prices forcing him to act, this just won't be a priority for him. And Iran has basically gotten a dream scenario under the existing MOU - assets unfrozen and sanctions lifted and the war ended without giving anything up relative to the status quo ante - so they have no reason to take the next deal seriously.

help us out here with some body language and facial expressions from rubio.
does it look like he has any doubt vance will be blamed? and lil' marco himself is overdue on some tuf luv?

as lutnick expels his sycophantic guffaws at more magnificent rightwing humor, i am sure rubio is not pondering what's next for cuba.
