Indeed - modernity to the max - is great.
Yale, UPenn - Google Jockeys can get behind this?
"The Paradox of Declining Female Happiness*"
"By many objective measures the lives of women in the United States have improved over the past 35 years, yet we show that measures of subjective well‐being indicate that women's happiness has declined both absolutely and relative to men. The paradox of women's declining relative well‐ being is found across various datasets, measures of subjective well‐being, and is pervasive across demographic groups and industrialized countries. Relative declines in female happiness have eroded a gender gap in happiness in which women in the 1970s typically reported higher subjective well‐being than did men. These declines have continued and a new gender gap is emerging'one with higher subjective well‐being for men."
Cue the Google Jockey.......

Yeah, ok. But stock in mental meds. Your society needs that stuff. Nice use of Medicare money there too.

Overturning Roe v Wade was a huge mistake.
That said, the decline in women's overall happiness is a long term trend that started long before the recent SCOTUS decision and is not a consequence of one variable.

Ummmm look at the data- I know you Trumpy extremists dont' do that.
This data was WAAAAAAAAAAY before Trump or any Roe V Wade being taken away. Yes, your snobbery and extremism gave you that SCOTUS. Yes, I disagree with taking away Roe.
But - IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DATA CITED.....
Women satisfaction polls - DOWN.
Here's to modernity.
And here's to headline worshipping reactionaries, who can't even be bothered to read the data. LOL -

The data in that link was from the mid 2000s....well before Roe was taken.
But leave to the extremists and misogynists to say that abortion was the sole biggest happiness factor for a woman.
Geez, misogyny really is a thing.

Curious, your thoughts how would you feel if you knew the child in the womb is also of your making and your child is killed off and you never got to hold your child in your arms, love and guide him/her while growing up?

I've been saying that for years. But albaby says it won't stand up in court. But I don't see how it can be described otherwise.

You didn't address this to me, but speaking only for myself, I have no say in the matter. It's her body. Not mine. On some level, that is unfair. But the universe doesn't care about that. If she chose to keep it, then there would be someone running around that I am the father of. Again, I have no say. And legally I would be responsible for providing for that child, even if I didn't want it.
But it should not be permissible for any entity (person, government, or whatever) to force a woman to be an incubator against her will.
And that doesn't even get into the myriad situations where a woman needs it, but doctors are afraid (or prohibited) from doing it. We starting to see cases of that already.

It's gotta suck being a woman in a red state, of no more value, maybe less, than that of a breeding cow.
At the last hospital in Oklahoma she went to during her <molar pregnancy> ordeal last month, Statton says staff told her and her husband that she could not get a surgical abortion until she became much sicker.
"They were very sincere; they weren't trying to be mean," Statton, 25, says. "They said, 'The best we can tell you to do is sit in the parking lot, and if anything else happens, we will be ready to help you. But we cannot touch you unless you are crashing in front of us or your blood pressure goes so high that you are fixing to have a heart attack.'"
"I think one of the most frightening statements, which was at one of the hospitals, the person was trying to be reassuring and she said, 'Oh, well, you know, in the case of a medical emergency, we would try to use the woman's body as an incubator to just try to keep the pregnancy going as long as possible,'" Heisler says. https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2023/04/...

"Men often ask me, 'Why are your female characters so paranoid?' It's not paranoia. It's recognition of their situation." ~Margaret Atwood
"By dismantling nearly 50 years of legal precedent, the Supreme Court has jeopardized the physical and mental health of millions of American women.
Sadly, a recent study published in the Journal of the AMA has confirmed this warning has now become a reality.
Researchers of the study looked at mental health data from January 26, 2022, to September 28, 2022.
The researchers found that, for women between the ages of 18 and 44 who lived in states where abortion rights have been taken away,
there was a statistically significant increase in mental distress after the decision."
"Knowing that one's rights have been restricted, or fearing that one cannot control the outcome of one's pregnancy, is bound to induce anxiety."

Nor do I have any right to interfere with a women's decision of the child she carries.
As for me I am pro-life and do not believe in the death sentence.
