Trump’s Plan
Goal: Win by any means necessary. Legal if possible. By force if necessary
Right now, he is laying the groundwork for Insurrection 2.0
Intimidation
Lies
Flooding the zone with “polls” that suggest a Trump win.
He is setting the stage for saying “I won”, even if he doesn’t. I mean….”look at all the polls!” (Last time it wS “Look at the size of my rallies!”)
This time, the lawsuits he’s filed have already, for the most part, been swatted down (this time- before the election rather than after), and many of the loopholes in election law have been tightened up. It’s doubtful that Trump will be able to pull off a “legal coup”.
Which makes it more likely that his last ditch effort will be a reprise of “Come to Washington on January 6. It will be wild!”
Get ready.

Like a football player psycho g yourself up for the big play, you’re saying that Trump is going to launch a revolution to seize power.

Okay, so nothing, which is what I thought. Based on your rhetoric you should be stockpiling arms and food in the mountains Red Dawn-style.

The question of the moment is:
“What are you doing?” You’ve said you voted and yell at liberals here. Great! But I imagine you’re doing more.
High interest voters like you and me also donate to candidates’ campaigns.
I’ve donated to Harris/Walz campaign several times
Democratic Senate Campaign
Colin Allred’s campaign against Cançun Ted, several times.
Both Senate and House candidates here in MI
Debbie Mucarsel-Powell’s Senate campaign in Florida against Medicare fraudster, Rick Scott.
Also volunteered to serve as a poll worker here in Lenawee County, but haven’t heard back here in Trump Country- doesn’t surprise me
And of course, COVID’s over, so it’s back to in-person voting… first Tuesday of November. Polling location is just 400 yards from my front door, here in the little town I live in.
I doubt seriously that Trump will be screaming this time to “Stop The Count” of those absentee ballots, so yours should be safe.

“I have had those terms hurled at me by some political leaders in the city, using terms like Hitler and fascist,” said Mr. Adams, a former police officer. “My answer is no. I know what Hitler has done and I know what a fascist regime looks like.

I’m going to disagree. Jan 6 was a last ditch attempt to get Pence to change his mind and go along with the fake elector plan. The current VP has zero chance of acquiescing to that plan this time. Fake electors are off the table.
Instead the plan is to put a monkey wrench into a much earlier step in the process.
Local election offices in multiple swing states have been filled with MAGA faithful ready and willing to refuse to certify their local results based on some made-up irregularities. Many of these folks gave the idea a test run in the recent primaries. So they’ve had a chance to learn a little bit about what seems to work and what doesn’t.
It’s a bit unclear what exactly will happen when they refuse to certify in the general election. That’s almost certainly a state by state thing. But what it will do is create questions and open the door for chaos. And that chaos is exactly what Trump wants. He thrives in chaos. It gives him the chance to continue to sow fear and doubt among his easily duped followers.

And into the chaos he will try again to overthrow the election. Same story, different chapter.
And if he fails… he will not go gently into the dark night.
He has nothing to lose.
Get that straight: he has nothing to lose by going for broke.
If he goes home, he’ll go to jail for crimes he’s already been indicted on, and in one case, already been convicted.
If he goes for broke and tries to force his way back to to the WhiteHouse, he probably thinks he has a chance of pulling it off. And if he fails, he goes to jail for any number of horribly sounding crimes, but I don’t believe we’d ever execute an ex-president.
Jeff Davis did far worse.

Because from my libtard point of view, the side supporting Trump in this potential civil war will be dumb hicks like yourself thinking that their precious ARs and their pickup trucks will be sufficient. The other side of the civil war will be the national guard and the US Army with their considerably larger firepower. I doubt the Navy, Air Force, and Marines will need to dirty their uniforms at all. At most, the Air Force might assist with some logistics.
There’s no need for ordinary citizens to arm themselves unless they plan to be on the losing side of a very short fight.

Wrong conclusion. I think the point was that the U.S. military could easily wipe out group of armed or unarmed U.S. citizens without breaking into a sweat.
Therefore, we should be overly cautious of electing a president who thinks it would be a good idea to use the power of government for, say, retribution. Because at some point, regardless of your beliefs, you will be on the receiving end of that retribution.

If it is available to Trump he will use it, retribution seems to be something he believes in. We can count on some of that, don't know how much. I don't think he's even concerned about a legacy, just getting out of his lawsuits, getting pardoned, then he can curry whatever favors he wants. He's virtually home free. Trump’s threat to democracy starts with him legitimately winning the election, not with a civil war. He’d then use the trappings of democracy to dispense with democracy.
I’ve explained it before, so I won’t go into the details again. But the end point would be a Russian style democracy, where those in power choose who gets to run in elections, thereby assuring they will remain in power.

IF that happens, Like the last time, some of the military will break for Trump, and some for the Constitution.
Note: that scenario only occurs if Trump loses, refuses to concede, then calls the military to follow him and his disgraced Q-anon general- Michael Flynn.
It’s doubtful that the majority of the active military, or reserves, or National Guard will take sides with the guy who called them suckers and losers

Correct.
These gun fetish folks, who seem to have a large overlap with the MAGA crowd, can only seem to envision democracy going out in a blaze of gunfire and glorious revolution.
The reality is that if democracy dies in the US, it will happen with strokes of a pen, not at the point of a gun. And those in favor of the loss of democratic freedoms will cheer on that loss, thinking that they will benefit. Only when it is too late will they realize what they have done.
