Pharmacy chain Walgreens announced Thursday that it would close a significant number of its U.S. stores, after cutting its full-year profit outlook.
While the company did not disclose how many stores it plans to close, it said it will close many underperforming stores across the country to optimize operations. The closures will also focus on stores too close to other Walgreens stores or those struggling with theft.

Decriminalizing stealing was a wonderful idea. Many social liberals actually take responsibility for out parties insanity. That was a top 5 unforced error.

This is corporate-speak for:

Senior management screwed up big time by putting stores too close to each other. But admitting we screwed up is counterproductive to us getting huge bonuses. So we’re blaming it on theft.

There are two Walgreens here that are too close together. CVS already closed one down, leaving one. They're giving incentives to get regualr prescriptions mailed to you now.
