Wow. Talk about a political career literally up in smoke:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14271021/...

DailyMail.com interviewed current and former senior LAFD officers briefed on the shocking proposed cuts, and exclusively obtained the memo from an LA Fire Department (LAFD) whistleblower who posts on social media under the moniker 'LAFD Watchdog'.

The memo is dated January 6, only a day before the devastating Palisades Fire started.

According to the sources, it was sent from LAFD 'top brass' at City Hall to division chiefs and captains - after a fraught meeting the previous Friday between Chief Kristin Crowley and Mayor Bass.

'The LAFD is still going through a FY [financial year] 2024/2025 $48.8million budget reduction exercise with the CAO [City Attorney's Office],' the document said.

'The only way to provide a cost savings would be to close as many as 16 fire stations (not resources, fire stations); this equates to at least one fire station per City Council District.

Woof.
LA, like many west coast cities, is expanding its social programs (read: stuff for the homeless) at the expense of city services...

This might end up being an inflection point. The state of California ought to be the absolute crown jewel for the United States - it literally has everything going for it. And yet, it's bleeding population, tax base and companies due to decades of democrat-led management and corruption.

Will the LA fires be the final straw that breaks the d's hold on the state? Or do its residents want even more of this?

Gavin Newsom recently vetoed spending for season firefighters and the state hasn't been doing any proscribed burns. What a farce.

Where it comes to being a mayor and crisis managing - nobody is perfect.

But. bASS isn't qualified to hold Rudy's coat.

I hate that people have died and lives are totally gonna need reboot.

But I love when the world sees Democrat Cities for what they are - over and over and over again.

Check out who the LA Deputy Mayor is:

https://www.foxnews.com/us/la-deputy-mayor-placed-...

The deputy mayor of Los Angeles was placed on leave after an investigation allegedly determined he made a bomb threat against City Hall earlier this year.

FOX 11 in Los Angeles reported that LA Deputy Mayor Brian Williams’ Pasadena, California home was raided by the FBI on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into a bomb threat against City Hall back in September. The FBI did not make any arrests at the time of the search.

On Wednesday, LA Mayor Karen Bass’s office released a statement on Williams’ being placed on leave.

What the hell are they doing down there??

No one is qualified to hold Rudy's coat until they have a full haz-mat suit on.

Curious how California has all these great corporations. And they are Progressive so the "rich" get taxed more.

Yet they still can't fund a frigging fire department.

I wonder if they've spent any money on illegal immigrants and poor immigrants over the years.

I wonder if culture decline - has cause governments to be responsible for BASICS that "the nuclear family....yuck" used to be responsible for?

Someone on TMF warned that this combo will one day soak away resources from other more important things.

Today, Progressivism has again gone up in smoke

****

Paging the whiners in L.A - you got a great mayor. She's done great so far. Stop crying you snowflakes. Rub some dirt on it. Take some Pepto.

Now back to topic which the dishonest poster censored.

As mayors - Rudy was superior to bASS.

Dope: "Gavin Newsom .... and the state hasn't been doing any proscribed* burns.

That's 100% false. (less profane 2025 in action)

I watch the CA state parks doing scheduled burns.

*'proscribed'...what a flocking idiot.

Piece of trivia I heard today...
PG&E (norther CA power company) is spending about $500M/year on tree trimming and brush abatement for fire prevention.
