In New Hampshire yesterday, former president Trump met with convicted January 6 Capitol rioter, Micki Larson-Olson, praising her and giving her a hug before signing her backpack.
Micki Larson-Olson, who was sentenced to 180 days in jail for her role in the January 6 insurrection, is unrepentant for her actions and continues to call for the execution of anyone who certified the 2020 election. She believes in the admiralty law, a bizarre conspiracy theory pushed by the so-called "sovereign citizen" movement, which holds that the United States was secretly replaced with a private corporation in the 19th century and that individual people can legally declare themselves their own government and be immune from laws.
Trump told her: "Listen, you just hang in there. You guys are gonna be okay. You just take care of yourself. You've been through too much. You're going to wind up being happy."
That's the leader of the republican party, the presumed 2024 republican presidential nominee, hugging and praising a woman who still calls for the execution of members of Congress. And 70 million Americans will vote to make him president again.
