In about 2 weeks we'll know.

We'll know if Trump wants to win and be President.

Yes ok. the Abortion Taliban on the Right has tried all it could do elect Harris.

Yes ok. The Vance pick was right out of Harris's Wet Dream File.

But the quality of message - as in - having one. The rhetoric. The quality of ads.....all thus far were made by the high school A/V club geeks at best. Wishful thinking is he's waiting till the convention bump and honeymoon start to sour just a bit.

More wishful thinking is KellyAnne being put in charge with a taser hooked up to Donald's nuts where she can truly run things and win it. Harris is happy to be controlled by her Obama and Biden staff. I wish Trump would be as docile.

BUT I have started on my back up plan should Harris win and this up-chuck sensation when I think of her being saluted becomes a normal occurrence.

1.)Go back to just headlines and trends. I still haven't gotten into cable news, etc but I am reading more than headlines. Hopefully going back to 80% blackout will help me just lay with my legs spread until it's over.

2.)I'm rewatching "24".

I figure one day a week, pretend Jed Bartlett is President. Then one day a week, David Palmer. The other 5 days just occupy myself with other stuff. Step up travels, step up cooking and preparing meals (to perfection of course) and read political non fiction like I used to do - I still have a Karl Rove book about President McKinley I never touched yet.

Carter, Reagan, Papa Bush, Bill Clinton, W, Barack Obama, Trump, Biden.....since I've been alive I'm lucky. I didn't like all the Presidents but respected each and every one of them and at end of the day, on the world stage I was happy to say "yeah, that's my guy" to an extent. I guess between that, and maaaaaaaaybe too much TV/Movies....I just have this hero worship thing for the office of the Presidency of the United States.

I guess it's a "win" if *this* is the biggest source of sadness in my life, I know that and I know that as they say - by the grace of God go I.

But, yeah, it's a gut punch of sorts. I admit, eyes will be wet for a moment here and there. But in the end, it's just another step in my journey of realizing that America - while an amazing economy, amazing gigantic shopping mall of consumers, with vast resources is will the #1 place in the world - but is no longer the nation-state I thought I knew. That process has been a decade plus and I guess this is the next chapter.

Oh well. A peasant like me has nothing to do about it. But I do wish.....that from Sweden to Paris to Austin, certain others rise up against injustice and colonization and deal with it. I love entertainment and deserved outcomes.
