TWS shows a real time data feed.
But you do have to have the appropriate data subscription set up.

That explains it, because for Schwab I am a premium customer. So apparently with Schwab I get for free the real time data (or at least far "more" real time ones) I'd have to pay $14.5/month for with IB.
I am thrifty. So if I trade on IB but need real time data (only for options, for trading stocks I don't care) then as today I will look parallel at Schwab and use the bid/ask data I am seeing there to set the limit for my trade on IB.
