Just a heads up that Voldemort is up to his old tricks again. It looks like the stock prices in the 13-Dec-2024 datafile are wrong.

If you have a screen that uses the stock price field then it may give you misleading results.

Thanks for the heads-up.

At least they are getting more consistent -- consistently bad. This is a follow up to the file dated November 22 (released Nov 18) that was all bad too.

I have never delved very deeply to figure out which fields are junk when this happens, and which ones are good.
"Stock Price" and "Current P/E Ratio" are bad. But "Div'd Yield" and "Market Cap $(Mil)" seem to be OK.
But rather surprisingly, the "Total Return xx-Week" and "Total Return YTD" fields seem (?) to be OK as well.
(the "Total Return xx-Year" fields are updated only monthly anyway, so they are the usual stale-but-right figures)

Jim

Note that the Total Return final year in this file is 2017, which means it is data from 2018. There are eight prices that equal the same price for FLWS in 2018, but the returns for 1-Week, 4-Weeks and 13-Weeks do not match any of those dates. The point? The file is useless.

It would be similar to going to Walmart and buying a two pound box of shrimp, but upon opening it at home you found two pounds of roly-polies! Disgusting, but a great solution if you've broken a bone lately!
