How?

Why snub Modi? Only to get bombastic?
Why play hot and cold with Putin?
Why make a deal with Xi and then break it up?

Apple was spending $55 billion per year in China on all aspects of manufacturing. Apple's high-tech spending on infrastructure is the largest commitment of capital on earth in the private sector.

Or at least I do not know of a larger ongoing expenditure of that size. It has tooled and trained Chinese manufacturing for more than a decade.

The current tariff negotiations make China and India uncomfortable for Apple. It is not only a request to come back to the US and spend that money. The curtain is being brought down.

The rest of the negotiations are the small potatoes. We can make some gains. We can stop some waste. Russia and China are not who we want or need as allies.
