The Army did a great job of threading the needle in an impossible situation.
For the parade, they refused to play the role of fearsome dictatorial warfighter, although they could have done that easily; these are serious people, after all.
Far from the image created by Hitler with his endless film reels of Wehrmacht and SS troops marching stern faced with absolute precision, our guys waved at the crowds from atop tanks, and the GIs who marched didn’t really march; it was more like a cross between a march and a saunter.
The NO KINGS organizers were smart to cancel their rally in Washington, in order for Trump’s vanity parade to be scrutinized all by its lonesome……. And that view was mighty lonesome.
But kudos to the US Army for displaying some real thought going into how they were going to present themselves to the American public when ordered to march by a vain, self centered president.

Lol.
Just hilarious.
The Army has had parades before;this isn’t a new thing. Well…to the left it is.
The parade was a recruiting coup. The Army has already met if now all of its recruiting targets for THE YEAR. Having events that bring the military closer to the people is always a good thing.
