A Life Hack for the Ultra-Wealthy Is Going Mainstream
More families who can afford it are hiring a house manager, a kind of “chief of staff for the home.”

I'm not looking for an employee I need to supervise.

I think the thrust is an employment opportunity for middle managers and other white collar "knowledge workers" who are being RIFed. As I suggested, years ago, the "jobs" that the "JCs" will be creating in the future will be cleaning out their toilets and polishing their private jets.

Middle managers tend to get chopped in every recession, because, unless they have ingratiated themselves with top management, they add no value to the organization. Now, add in all the "knowledge workers" who can be replaced by AI systems.

I'm glad I'm retired, for two reasons: the last three places I worked installed and reconfigured office furniture. AI systems don't need cubes. Second, the job I did, working up quotes, entering orders, scheduling service techs, could be done by an AI system. I was working an obsolete job, for an obsolete product.

There was a "Twilight Zone" ep about people like me, 65 years ago.

The Obsolete Man

For those who missed it, Mike Rowe is flogging trades education as "AI proof".
