...anyone at Gitmo while he was a Navy lawyer, so says the NYT. (Horrors! The NYT, that left-wing rag, isn't covering up a story about a Republican not doing something bad!!)

A former prisoner's story of mistreatment at the hands of Ron DeSantis made headlines. But The New York Times found no evidence to back it up.

Before he was Florida's governor, as a young Navy lawyer, Mr. DeSantis had taken part in a forced feeding of a hunger striker at the notorious American prison, and laughed as he did so.

I actually hadn't heard about that. But the NYT, ya know, investigates and verifies stuff before going to print. So they interviewed people, and can report there is no evidence to support that claim. DeSantis was too junior an officer to ever have been in a position to witness, or partake, in such a thing.
