We will probably end up in Venice, and I'm trying to see what best to do from there. Been to Venice before.
My ultimate goal is getting at least as far as Prague (by train). I'm thinking of some combination of stops including Trieste, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Vienna, and then Prague. Obviously, the more stops, the less time we can spend in each. Any thoughts on such an itinerary? Maybe skip Trieste? Or maybe Ljubljana? Maximum of two weeks on the trains.
I was hoping to get to Plitvice National Park, but that's the completely opposite direction from Prague. I'm hoping to do some less traveled cities (except Vienna...I know that one is huge).
