i agree. despite the obama years, democrats have been outplayed at several levels since clinton. failure to imagine many GOP tactics is blame.
it is for this reason that a media outlets like The Atlantic took responsibility for 2016,2020 failures, and released an entire issue on the dire threat of a trump win. not many have followed.
what is missing is how independents will do. since they poll unreliably, and avoid politics in general up until the day effort is put into voting, all you can go on is how they actually voted. and the last ~4 cycles have been anti-GOP. is it possible for the GOP losses to be so lopsided that MAGA returns to non-political activities? can trump bring about a full disintegration of the GOP, since they are rudderless without his whims?
i dont worry much about another cult-like icon emerging post-Trump.
