My friends and family and I have owned and trained scads of pointers and retrievers ourselves and by professionals.

We live in Montana, California, Hawaii, and have hunted birds all over the western states, Mexico, Hawaii to Scotland. Screw your ignorant beliefs.

We've trained them ourselves, hired pro-trainers to learn the finer points ourselves, and even got one trained in Scotland and shipped here,German Shorthair, turnkey field ready. Hell, my wife's brother was with whom I hunted a lot was a dog trainer.

We've NEVER had the need to put down a dog. Never. Not once. And we've had some goofy pups. Hard stop.

If, in fact, the a 14 month old dog bit the Governor, it was her own damned ignorant fault. Either she or someone she entrusted the dog to abused the animal. Inasmuch as she said she "hated the dog", I'd bet she was the asshole.

You gotta be a pretty horrible owner to make a 14 month old pup bite you.
