They say that what he really meant was that the particular issues Christians are most likely to be impelled vote to get changed are the supreme court and a nation wide abortion ban, both of which Trump will "fix" when during his second term, by appointing two more conservative judges and enacting a national abortion ban. Thus, Christians won't have to bother voting again.

It's possible that's what he meant, but even so it is incredibly stupid and un-American...telling people not to vote.
But it's also true that he has indicated he would like to be Dear Leader for life.
BTW, when I listen to the audio it sounds like he is saying "I'm a Christian", not "I'm not Christian". It's plain he's not a Christian, but he sure as hell isn't going to tell that crowd that he's not. He slurs the phrase a little, like even he knows it's an absurd thing to say.
