The link shows a classic Stalin photo that has been photoshopped with Trump and Musk.

The link is a screenshot of a Musk post on X with the author T. Kingfisher's comment on why we shouldn't privatize the government functions and services.

My money is on TACO unless Trump tries to revoke Musks citizenship.

I think the first actual act that Trump would take, if this going to move beyond words into actual deeds, would be to start firing some of Musk's DOGEmen. Because DOGE couldn't operate as a real agency (else its head would be an Officer of the U.S. that required Senate confirmation), the way it worked was by "embedding" DOGE people into the various agencies as employees of that agency. Basically just a whole bunch of people that were there because Musk wanted them high in the food chain in each agency, not because the putative heads of each agency want them to be there.

Trump values loyalty above all. These people are Musk allies. If Trump has decided that this is not just a war of words, but an actual break that has converted the two men into opponents, then they're going to have to go.

Au revoir, Big Balls....

Is it wrong to root for the current political version of the old Cold War policy of mutually assured destruction?

Let the two of them go at each other until they are both too wounded to matter at all politically.

it was reported a few weeks ago by slate that musk's key men were not staying at doge.
trump pretending to fire them would be useless.

Sure, but those aren't the ones I'm talking about. There are a lot of DOGE folks that were also special governmental employees, like Musk, and therefore were limited to a 130-day term of employment. You can't keep an outside job or have certain types of other activities while working for the federal government as a permanent employee, so they were always short-timers. They all have to go out the door.

However, there were a few DOGE folks that were named to permanent positions in the government - including "Big Balls" himself.

If those folks are axed, the ones who switched to full-time status, you'll know that it will be intentional and that Trump's team doesn't expect this rift to be healed. No, that's not "real damage" to Musk - but it's the likely first concrete act that the Administration would take to effectuate the split, rather than letting it still be just a war of words.

Big Balls stayed, and has a permanent position. I believe there are others.

i propose 'meh' regarding damage to musk or trump regarding axed or departing employees, temp or not.
and even 'meh' regarding any concern either may fake.
musk cant re-hire them in his sprawling empire for obscene comp?
