A few years ago, I was at an award presentation for Bob Lutz, supposed auto industry icon, former big shot at Chrysler and GM. His remarks while accepting the award were mostly about complaining how we in the audience, who were there to hear a historical lecture, after the award presentation, were not dressed in suit and tie. Yesser....USian "JCs", more concerned with appearances that substance, while the companies Lutz worked for failed.

I remember meeting Lutz long ago ---- had a nice conversation about the new GTO.
His eyes woul light up talking about product, excitement, fit and finish.
