This is a fascinating new theory on the nature of black holes and dark energy. Good stuff....

Astrophysicists Uncover First Observational Evidence of Cosmological Coupling
Feb 15, 2023 by News Staff

Cosmological coupling ' a newly-predicted phenomenon in Albert Einstein's theory of gravity ' allows black holes to grow in mass without consuming gas or stars, according to a team of astrophysicists from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and elsewhere.

Indeed.

One thing that threw me was that the Black Hole uses the expansion of the Universe to gain mass but also may be the source for the dark energy that drives the expansion in the first place.

Yes. I think we're missing a lot of information. Probably very esoteric stuff. You would think increased mass, and therefore gravity, would slow the expansion down. But that's not what is happening.

I'd be curious to read more, though I'm not a cosmologist.
