I'm reminded of lyrics from one of the better philosophers of our time, and it applies to your "freedoms" and "liberties" and "expression" - hopefully first in Europe and then America too.

Actually, we Americans are very privileged. I, as an American, could not go to Canada (CANADA!!) and say something against the prime minister. I'd be arrested. Europe is not as free with speech as we are, also. Never has been. They also still have state-sponsored religion.

Where I can say anything about a politician here and there isn't anything they can do about it. Ditto religion. Etc.

Here's to a European Democracy - condemning the desecration of religious text.

You were saying "drip drip drip". Your writing style is confusing, so perhaps I misunderstood. I was interpreting it as "drip drip drip" for people's rights being taken away; government condemning speech. My point was that the rules aren't the same over there. So there is no "drip drip drip".

If you meant something else, you didn't communicate it clearly.
