As for this issue: Let's reverse it. Had Trump massively expanded government, hired cronies from everywhere and set them loose on looting the country, then some democrat President shows up and fires all of them, the left would be applauding doing the exact. same. thing.
At any rate, the Executive branch is led by the President. Full stop. The President can hire and fire as he or she pleases. There is no entrenched bureaucracy of ""experts"". Gerrymandering has been going on for well over a century. The GOP in Michigan gerrymandered itself into a 40 year lock on control of the legislature, in spite of Michigan being purple, with state wide votes swinging back and forth. When "We The People" voted overwhelmingly to take redistricting away from the GOP controlled legislature, the pols called a lame duck session, after the election, to unwind the clear voice of "We The People". but failed.

I read some very sober and serious people, and one mentioned packing the Supreme court (increasing the number of justices) if we get in range of that power. This is how dire this current Supreme Court looks. I've seen dark jokes that the third way of amending the Constitution is by Supreme Court decision. Bleak.
