Trump flips on immigration; at least a very large part of it. Stephen Miller must be fuming. Even before this they were never going to deport 11 million people (or wasn't is sometimes 20 million?) and they sure won't now.

The abrupt pivot on an issue at the heart of Mr. Trump’s presidency suggested his broad immigration crackdown was hurting industries and constituencies he does not want to lose.

The Trump administration has abruptly shifted the focus of its mass deportation campaign, telling Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to largely pause raids and arrests in the agricultural industry, hotels and restaurants, according to an internal email and three U.S. officials with knowledge of the guidance.

Construction industry will probably get included soon.

So he wants to keep those constituencies, but will he risk losing some others? Probably not. Most of the MAGA cult will just accept whatever their guru asks them to.

Everything about immigration would be better now if our idiot POTUS had not demanded that Congress do nothing so that he could more effectively campaign on the issue.
