This is how you deal with all bad faith openings from the left: you don't grant them a millimeter of rhetorical room. Don't let them Poison The Well (Which is what this "journalist" is doing here - he keeps using his Boogeyman Trump as a "This guy is in favor of something you said, therefore it's bad") - just keep hammering them for specifics.

Works every time. The best they can do is change the subject. Witness all the Hamas threads; those are hitting a little too close to home for some.
