But the ending of GOT was a disaster. Having Kalesi go all-despot on us was inconsistent when not long prior she wept at her dragons killing farmers' livestock (and at least one child, as I recall). You could tell when they ran out of the books. The books had a male dominated culture, which would be correct, for a medieval culture. The last two seasons had the women running everything, which is fashionable now. And they went way, way, overboard with the creatures, vs sticking to something semi-believable. Invulnerable zombie armies are not my thing.
In B5, how Londo would die, and at whose hand, was revealed in the first season. The friction between the Minbari religious and warrior casts started in the first season, before the civil war broke out in the fourth season. The seeds of the Mars rebellion were laid, early in the first season, months before the rebellion really broke out. Bester was introduced in the first season, long before the PsyCorps, and his role in it, and the Corp's support for Clark's coup, is revealed. The 20 years after episode was not a cheat, as the major arcs had been wrapped up.
I was watching B5 when it was running, waiting every week for a new episode, and being annoyed at waiting months between seasons. If you had bought the DVD box sets, like I did, you would have discovered by now that Warner DVD quality sux. I have lost 6 discs to rot already.
But, in the words of Professor Farnsworth "good news everyone".
JMS and Warner have cooperated to upload all the eps to YouTube. They just started uploading a few weeks ago, so are only up to early season two right now.
