Until a few years ago, if I started a book, I would doggedly finish it. The problem with that was I wasn't enjoying a lot of my reading. Then my wife introduced me to Nancy Perl's Rule of 50.

Rule of 50: under 50 read at least 50 pages before you quit. Over 50 subtract your age from 100 and read at least that number before quitting.

I'm down to 26 pages but I'll usually read a bit more than that, but I am both quitting more books and enjoying reading much more.
