Yesterday on News Nation, Elizabeth Vargas asked governor Kristi Noem a simple question: why didn't Noem remove the passage with the "error" about Km Jong Un when she recorded it for the audiobook version of "No Going Back".
VARGAS: "But clearly, if you're taking it out of the book, it's because it's untrue."
NOEM: "I've given you my answer. No, and that's not the answer. I would say that this is something that I asked to have adjusted and have the content and that name removed and that is truly what the action has been."
VARGAS: "You said that when you learned of it you immediately took action."
NOEM: "Mm-hmm."
VARGAS: "You recorded the whole book, the audiobook, you read this whole passage out loud. Why didn't you take it out then, when you read the audiobook?"
NOEM: "You know I traveled for years. I've been involved in policy for almost thirty years. And so I've gone all across the world. I've met with world leaders --"
VARGAS: "But you didn't realize when you read the audiobook--"
NOEM: "When it was brought to my attention, and I asked the publisher if they would remove the name and they did."
VARGAS: "Okay, but you didn't answer my question. You posted pictures and video of yourself recording the audiobook. When you recorded your own audiobook, you didn't notice this passage?"
NOEM: "I'm not going to discuss about my meetings with world leaders."
VARGAS: "I'm not asking you to. I'm asking about recording the audiobook."
NOEM: "Do you want to talk about anything else today?"
VARGAS: "We're just trying to get a straight answer from you."
NOEM: "We did. And I took responsibility for it."
Noem, the MAGAt who lied about staring down Kim Jong Un and bragged about throwing a puppy into a gravel pit and shooting her in the face.
Heaven forbid if she was the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and said she was a professor... then the Trump Cult would be upset.

"I'm not going to discuss about my meetings with world leaders."
So lame.
She's really not that smart. Ambitious as hell, yes, smart...no.
She could have answered this much more effectively by admitting a mistake and moving on. Instead she doubles down on her lie and looks foolish. Trump, shallow old fool that he is, might have picked her because he likes pretty women who 'look good on TV', but not now.

Yep, I saw that interview and it was cringe worthy for sure. What politician doesn't want to talk about their experience interacting with world leaders. Like getting arrested with Nelson Mandela for example.
Seriously though, Noem blew it, she knows it, and scrambling to walk it back only makes it worse. It was her Howard Dean moment.

It was her Howard Dean moment.
Yep. I’d be surprised if she could get elected dog catcher in the next election.
Oops, maybe a bad choice of words.
