First part of your question, Draft Kings is publicly held, DKNG, Fanduel is owned by Flutter Entertainment, which is publicly held (FLUT) DKNG set a new 52 week low today, as did FLUT. As we know, you can still go bankrupt, when your business is taking people's money, for nothing.
Second part: my point was more a thought of the US' increasing focus on "bread and circuses", vs productive endeavor.
