The facts:

Fatalities resulting from attacks by far right wing violent extremists have exceeded those caused by radical Islamist violent extremists in 10 of the 15 years, and were the same in 3 of the years since September 12, 2001. Of the 85 violent extremist incidents that resulted in death since September 12, 2001, far right wing violent extremist groups were responsible for 62 (73 percent) while radical Islamist violent extremists were responsible for 23 (27 percent).

White supremacists 'were responsible for 49 homicides in 26 attacks from 2000 to 2016 ... more than any other domestic extremist movement.

Princeton University study: When compared to individuals associated with a right-wing ideology, individuals adhering to a left-wing ideology had 68% lower odds of engaging in violent (vs. nonviolent) radical behavior (b = −1.15, SE = 0.13, odds ratio [OR] = 0.32, P < 0.001). On the other hand, the difference between individuals motivated by Islamist and right-wing causes was not significant (b = 0.05, SE = 0.14, OR = 1.05, P = 0.747).

Stanford Center for International Security and Cooperation: Though the far-right has posed a threat to the homeland for decades, the scale of far-right violence has risen significantly. According to data collected by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, far-right terrorist attacks and plots have comprised more than half of all terrorist incidents in the United States nearly every year since 2011. In 2019, far-right extremism accounted for nearly two-thirds of failed, foiled, and successful attacks. In the first half of 2020 alone, it was responsible for over 90 percent. Since 2013, the far-right has consistently been associated with more terrorist attacks and plots than left-wing, ethnonationalist, and religiously motivated perpetrators.

The Washington Post: Since 2015, right-wing extremists have been involved in 267 plots or attacks and 91 fatalities, the data shows. At the same time, attacks and plots ascribed to far-left views accounted for 66 incidents leading to 19 deaths.
