There will be legal challenges, and she will lose them (most likely).

Very likely there will be, and very likely the ban will be struck down.

At first blush it seems like a not-well-thought-out reaction to a problem.

Sure, but what options exist to get 'well regulated' back in front of a court?

She could argue that the violence she is responding to is a result of inadequate regulation as is called for in 2A. That she is doing it civilly with a pen, not a gun, is entirely reasonable and commendable....even if the the ideologues appointed by the fraud committing lying, cheating orange rapist rule against the NewMex ban.
