Bob Woodward is continuing his tour of media appearances on his new book. He just appeared on MSNBC with Ari Melber who asked him to comment on Harris' readiness to tackle military and strategic decisions. Woodward answered by naming the current assigned National Security Advisor for Harris and mentioning that person's tenure and expertise dates back to the 1990s serving in the Clinton Administration. He then said:

Who is Donald Trump's national security advisor? His mouth. Whatever comes to him off the top of his head comes out and that becomes his policy.

The last sentence is paraphrased, the first two are a direct quote.

Reminds me of the series of cartoons Gary Trudeau did in 1980 on the Carter/Reagan race under the storyline of "In Search of Reagan's Brain." The "bit" involved a special investigative series reported by ABC reporter Roland Hedley and "brought to you by Anacin" that gave the viewer an animated tour of the internal workings (and mis-workings) of Reagan's brain.

One of the best days of the series was the point at which the reporter covered Reagan's declining thought-to-speech process.

"Reagan's End Run" indeed.

there is absolutely no topic where trump cannot become the world's foremost expert via a few seconds of anecdotal exchanges. it turns out the 'people say' school of pedagogy is the real trump university.

recently on tariffs, to bloomberg's editor :
"It must be hard for you to spend 25 years talking about tariffs as being negative and then have somebody explain to you that you’re totally wrong,” he told Micklethwait, drawing laughter."

the problem here is that MAGA is laughing at the actual experts and starts drinking bleach. it is irrelevant to the gop if trump changes his position on any topic a few days\weeks later.
