If someone appears to be repeatedly personal, lean towards patience as they might not mean offense. If you are sure, however, then do not deepen the problem by being negative; instead, simply place them on ignore by clicking the unhappy yellow face to the right of their name.

OK, I’[m about to propose a stupid idea that entails a lot of work for you for almost no reward, and I acknowledge that going in.
I use the Best Of list, which is dominated by the US Policy board (which I use) with some representation by the Berkshire board (which I also use) and a rare appearance by Mechanical Investing (which I don’t.) I do not ever remember another, although it might have happened.
The problem is that I don’t travel to a lot of other boards (although I do make use of “Vanguard” boards thanks to your link) but I’m sure there’s a lot which passes out of my view without ever haven’t been, uh, viewed.
So since I understand the concept of “per capita”, I’ll frame it that way. Is there a way to count how many views a post has vs how many recs, and make a “Per Capita Best” list? So if a post is seen by 10 people but gets 3 recs, it might be a better candidate than something on the Policy board seen by 50 which gets 10. And in that way there would be a way to find “worthy” posts without having to laboriously click into 100 different boards to see if there’s anything happening there or worthwhile to read.
As I say I don’t expect this, but thought I would throw it in the bin of Useless Ideas for Never in the Future.

Done. In the 'Best Of' lists, the previous "Recs" column is replaced with a "Recs (%)" column which is the ratio of the recs to the unique views. One users viewing many times still constitutes as a single view. I finally multiply the ratio by 100 because expressed as a percentage to be a little more friendly.
This is a little less elegant than showing Recs directly in the Best Of lists, and part of what makes Shrewd'm great is that it puts simplicity and clarity first. However the rec/view ratio is so objectively more meaningful as a means of ranking that the lack of elegance is outweighed by the greater truth.

I'm really glad you use this! And thank you for posting to lower volume boards (ie. boards on the vanguard) occasionally. They'll be only little more visible with the adjusted Best Of, but the trick to life is gradual improvement, which compounds over time.

Respectfully, I must disagree.
I want to see the most popular posts of the day and month, not posts that were viewed 2 or 3X and received one rec...
but as Mick told me long ago, "You can't always get what you want."
Anyway thanks for all you do!

Don’t worry, such spikes are very brief. When a post has one rec and 3 views, it attract attention very quickly (as it will rank high on the Best Of list) and the views then rapidly increase, so then rec/view ratio will quickly decline.
If there is a spike in the rec percentage score, it also isn’t bad as it can attract notice towards a post on an unpopular board rather briefly.
The standard rec figure is still shown everywhere else; the rec as a percentage of views is only used for the Best Of ranking.

Sadly, at the moment at least, the Top 10 listing by Rec%, my long time ignored creep, in my view at least, is eating up 5 of the 10 Best Of slots!!
So maybe make the Rec & Rec% columns optional, choose one or the other, or maybe just the % optional? Might be useful in all listings, user's choice?
In any case thanks for all you have done...

I have upgraded Shrewd'm today to not show ignored users within the Best Of lists.
You can also optionally apply this feature to filter the Best Of lists further down, by ignoring a larger number of users with posts that aren't interesting or valuable to you. To ignore a user, whilst reading their post click the 😞 unhappy face.
