It is difficult for an ongoing business (or an investor) to go bankrupt without debt.

JD Vance concludes that AI is a fundamentally communist technology. He made it clear he was generalizing, but he uses the word communist as an adjective to describe AI.
Fortunately, Bitcoin will save us, he says. This man is one heart beat away from the presidency.

I used to think Dan Quayle was the dumbest Vice President in my lifetime, and I have talked to people who knew him. I guess I will have to revise my evaluation.

Trump is looking bad and sounding worse every day. I've wondered if he might eventually get the 25th amendment treatment. Admittedly he would have to be in a vegetative state for the MAGA to give up on him, but it could happen. In which case we get JD Vance who might be even worse, because he's just as evil as Trump but not as stupid.

If that's not scary enough, Speaker Mikey Johnson is two heartbeats away.

There is a zero percent chance of that happening - ever. The President gets to pick his own cabinet. Then those people are going to - en masse - turn around and vote him out? Never, absent a car accident which leaves him in a vegetative state.
I feel the same way about Impeachment conviction. Unless that vote were to be taken anonymously, the voters of whichever party would have to face the constituents who put them in office, which means they would succumb to primary challenges from within their own party, thus rendering their vote a suicide mission.
Neither of those removal procedures is viable, there needs to be something different. Absent “anonymous vote” for conviction, I don’t know what it is (that also has protections against simple majority expulsion, which would render the position dangerously susceptible to political machinations.)

How about having the moral character to believe an oath you take to preserve and protect the Constitution?
Nixon resigned because Republicans said they would vote to impeach and convict him for committing a crime.
Of course, today’s Republicans nominated and elected a 34 count convicted felon who is an adjudicated rapist and violates the emoluments clause of the Constitution daily.
You know, the law and order folks who love to incite violence, wave the flag, and carry pocket Constitutions around.

How about the parliamentary system? Sure, it's not perfect, but it seems better than what we've got now. A vote of no confidence might be possible in that system with a variety of parties that must form a coalition to govern.
