You have evidence (other than your say-so)? I don't recall that. I do recall that Xi clamped down hard once it was clear he had a pandemic. Travelers entering China had to go into quarantine (there was a poster at TMF whose daughter was a teacher, and she gave us a lot of details at the time). Outgoing? Xi can't really control the quarantines of other nations.

I am no fan of China (more specifically, their government). I've been saying for years that we need to treat them as the enemy they are. But I find your arguments lacking.

As for lab release vs wet-market? Dunno. I've seen reasonable speculation for both, and no convincing evidence for either. You cannot know what happened because nobody really knows what happened, at least in part because the Chinese have not been forthcoming. Which is no surprise since they never are.
