China is eating our lunch as we stand by and "condemn" each move they make.

In other news, Chinese and Russian bombers escorted by fighter planes from each country conduct joint maneuvers in international airspace surrounding Japan on two consecutive days last week.

Maybe if the previous administration had not halted the reestablishment of relations with Cuba, this might not be happening. I know it's not popular in FL, but the Cuba ban has been in place for over 60 years. Castro is dead. Time to try to connect, like Obama did. The last thing we need is another Cuban Missile Crisis.

As for Japan, China and Russia are making a huge mistake. Japan is responding by building out their defense force, with the ability to strike at long range (since they don't have garrisons on all of their home islands).

I thought this video was very interesting. This guy specializes in economics, especially as it pertains to funding militaries (allocation among projects, objectives, etc).

Japan is not going to roll over, and the US is still very much on Japan's side. The prior administration may have been willing to cede influence in the Asia/Pacific, but Biden isn't. And hopefully future POTUSes won't.

Here's to Blue State teamwork: China and Cuba.

One only hopes that one day, Russia is majority Muslim..... and China shares knowhow and intel with them.

I'll listen later. I watched as Japan began rebuilding a defense force and admired their planes. They had militarized part of their police and had to make a change to the Constitution IIRC. They have disputes with China over some small islands, but seem to have claimed them.

The Philippines finally relented and we now have more bases but I do have questions on the radar facilities. The Chinese were out mapping the ocean floor to the east of the Philippines and now know more places to hide their subs well.

India has been raising the alarm about China for some time. The Chinese have built up port, some in the Malacca straits, to Sri Lanka - String of Pearls strategy. The ports aren't hardened yet, but could be. The Chinese have been aggressive in the South Chinese Sea which almost became a Chinese Lake.
