...were not marked correctly by the US Treasury.

But now, that's been fixed.

https://mxmnews.com/article/9316a4b3-d0b5-4381-a12...

Quick Hit:

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), established under President Donald Trump, has discovered that nearly $4.7 trillion in U.S. Treasury payments were processed with an optional, often blank identification code—making them nearly impossible to track. The revelation has prompted immediate changes to federal financial reporting, mandating full transparency on these transactions moving forward.

Key Details:

DOGE found that the Treasury Access Symbol (TAS), a key financial identifier, was frequently left blank in transactions totaling $4.7 trillion.
The Trump administration’s watchdog agency worked with the U.S. Treasury to close this loophole, making the TAS field mandatory for all federal payments.
DOGE continues to uncover and eliminate government waste, already reporting an estimated $55 billion in taxpayer savings through spending cuts and contract renegotiations.

More transparency, more tracking. Both good things.

Dope1: ...were not marked correctly by the US Treasury.

Umm, no.

Quoting your text: "...payments were processed with an optional, often blank identification code...

If a field is "optional," not filling the field does not mean it was "not marked correctly."

Plus, what does "often" mean there? Fifty times, 5,000 times, 50,000 times? Surely, president Musk must know the exact number and the fact that he's neglecting to reveal that number is suspicious and certainly not "transparent."

BTW, the entire FY 2024 federal budget was $6.75 trillion. So nearly 70 percent of federal spending, according to president Musk, was "nearly impossible to track"?

Some people are so friggin' gullible.

The field isn't optional any longer.

BTW, the entire FY 2024 federal budget was $6.75 trillion. So nearly 70 percent of federal spending, according to president Musk, was "nearly impossible to track"?

Did he give a timeframe on those payments?

Some people are so friggin' gullible.

Let's put you down as another who is digging in his heels in resistance to understanding where our taxpayer dollars go. Why would that be?

BTW, sorry to read about your diagnoses. We've had our differences in the past but I wanted you to know that I hope you make a full recovery and wish you well.

Some people are so friggin' gullible.

To support President Musk/Trump you have to be gullible. You must avoid critical thinking and open yourself to manipulation by a bunch of propagandists.

Or...you just love to see our democracy being destroyed and hope to live under a repressive authoritarian regime.
