Am I alone in my thinking that I mostly consider the VP as a reflection of the choices made by the POTUS candidate?

For example...I was mostly a McCain guy in 2007. Didn't agree with him on everything, but then I never do. Never heard of Obama. I wanted to learn about him, and I did. But McCain did two things that really jarred me. First, he started talking about church and god a lot. He had never done that before. Second, he chose Palin as his running mate. It took less than two minutes of hearing her speak before I knew she was a blithering idiot, and therefore I questioned McCain's judgment.

With Walz, I don't care where he's from. Yes, his history is very "folksy" (high school coach, etc). But he doesn't seem to be a blithering idiot, and he doesn't say outrageously stupid things. Whether he went to Yale or KU, doesn't really matter to me. He was a good choice to me because he didn't make me question Kamala's judgment, unlike Palin and McCain.

I never voted for McCain again for any office.
