For 25 years it's been very rare that anyone posted a single idea that conflicted with Buffett's position at the time on any issue, but me.
I pounded the table to, authorize, a buyback 20 years ago, no one vigorously agreed.
Once he finally goosed the stock with that phony 1.1 xs BV limit buyback, I pounded the table to authorize buybacks at, material discounts to IV, no one on the boards supported the idea. It took a few years but finally Buffett agreed.
I suggested why we needed a 50 for 1 split to increase liquidity so that brkb could be included in several indexes, to increase demand for the common, most of the responses on the message boards were comical, to be kind.
How do I know that in view of the current circumstances brk should declare a one dollar a B share quarterly dividend? Because not one poster here agrees, that's how I know it's the correct move at this time.

Did you give any thought to spinning out the apple shares as a dividend to partners so that every partner could decide for themself what to do with their apple shares?
BTW, right sizing the apple position was the correct move, imo, I just would have preferred the shares rather than the sales within brk.

It's truly shocking how stubborn most perhaps ALL willing to opine long time brk partners can be. Did Buffett win the million-dollar bet that the sharpest hedge funds couldn't beat spy? For the past ten years have Buffett's hand-picked stock pickers beaten spy? Buffett has been right all along, it's very hard to beat low-cost SPY long term while managing serious sums, without an edge, aka, wink wink, help.
If Buffett had been buying 1-2 billion spy a month, on average, for the past 5 years where would brkb be trading at today?
