Repeated disclosure: I'm not a Militant Atheist. I think there's many non-believers who are great people - I know there are. It's the Militant Atheists , Muslims, Christians, the ones who love parading their faith or lack thereof as an excuse to hurt or insult others that I have issue with.
Organized Religion - my theory is that they ALL were put in motion by men - talented men of their time. Most of it was so that said men could have sex, have women under their dominion, have power, and make tons of money. Some of the reasons weren't nefarious - I think some structure HAD to be set up vis a vis having babies, marriage, etc lest total anarchy and chaos happen. Maybe there was health reasons - certain diets forbidden, cleanliness encouraged - - heck, if you need someone to put down the pork and take a frigging shower - just tell them that God or Jesus or the Prophet (peace be unto him) said so.
Most of the religions have dastardly language about homosexuality. 1st off, that means it always existed and was indeed a natural part of the human experience, and state of being. But why - when so many of these religions have differences - is a common theme anti-homosexual?
MONEY is my theory. ALL the major religions encourage reproduction. A Mitzvah I believe - is "Be Fruitful and Multiply". I think going back to when the SpinMeisters of that time period wrote "The Word of God"....they wanted to command large swaths of people not just to take arms for their supposed cause .....but to DONATE to their religions.
If Peter Fitzpatrick and Patrick Fitzpeter decided to shack up and have a life of push-push together.....aint no baby being born. No baby being taught to grow up, take up arms for the religion. AND....THAT'S ONE LESS BABY WHO WILL KICKBACK PART OF HIS MONEY to the Church, the Mosque, the Pundit-Ji, whatever.
Anyhow, that's my random theory on why ancient religions penned things forbidding homosexuality.
For the record this isn't about me. I'm gonna go watch hockey fights on YouTube and have a cheeseburger now. How bout that new kid eh? What an arm on him.
