Rep. Mike Johnson has become the latest Republican nominee in the barrel for Speaker.
Johnson is a MAGA Republican from Louisiana and a trained constitutional lawyers who was an architect of House effort to overturn the 2020 election.
He also voted against legalizing same-sex marriage and in private law practice has opposed the LGBTQ+ community. Last fall, he introduced a national Don't Say Gay Law.
He wants to ban abortion nationwide.
He supports Trump's Muslim ban.
And he is against aid to Ukraine.
So, as predicted, were getting close to the Crazy Cream of the caucus and he stands a pretty solid chance of getting to 217. He would definitely try to steal the election for Trump in 2024.

An evangelical Christian, Mr. Johnson was an architect of Republicans' objections to certifying the victory of Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Jan. 6, 2021. A member of the Judiciary Committee, he is an ally and supporter of its combative chairman, Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, and only considered moving forward with his own bid for speaker after Mr. Jordan fell short.
