Remember how Republicans are passing all of these anti-LQBGT laws to protect children?
Republicans in the Kansas legislature just over road a Governers veto of an anti-LGBTQ law.
This law will make it so high school athletes might have to submit to having their genitalia inspected before they compete. Only in an ignorant, nutter world is having strangers regularly inspect my child's genitalia considered protecting them.

Having TGs participate in women's sports seems unfair to many people, and I hear complaints about it from female athletes, etc. I have one friend whose SO is a Filipina TG, and he thinks its unfair. This leaves us wide open to criticism and is an easy way for the Republicans to score points, such as this bill. We should address this - but I, for one, don't know how to address this. Any ideas?

Except that the Republicans are not going to score points with this. It is going to backfire badly on them.
Imagine when this bill starts to take effect and random high school officials start making 16-year-old girls expose themself in order to compete. That's going to go over well with parents of those 16 year old girls don't you think?

Unfortunately, in the insanity we are caught up in, there is a movement to eliminate sex from birth certificates and other documents, eg passports. In fact, the American Medical Association advocates for elimination.

Yes they could, if the high school student remembers to bring it to the track meet that is 50 miles away from home. After all, 16-year-old girls have never forgotten a piece of paper in their life right?

You need a birth certificate to get a drivers license or a passport. Do you think that is crazy because it is too unworkable?

People get drivers licenses whether or not they have birth certificates, most do it with a birth certificate, it is very rare to not have a birth certificate or some other document that derives from the birth certificate these days.
Ultimately, I have shown my birth certificate to get married, to get a drivers license, and to get a passport. I know have a scan of my birth certificate that I can find if I ever need it, but these derivative documents work.
I was guessing it was your bias that allowed you to be panicked by the need for a birth certificate in this case but not when getting married, voting, or driving, but it could be some other reason that this fairly simple straightforward thing panicked you. I don't know.
