According to Trump Whisperer Maggie Haberman, in the past 24 hours the quadruple indicted rapist Donald John Trump has told people close to him that he has made up his mind and will skip the debate. He plans to sit for an online interview with Tucker Carlson.
Tucker Carlson, fired by Fox 'News.'
Donald Trump, fired by the American people.
The cult's Dream Loser Team.
So what will they talk about, and how many times do you figure Trump will further incriminate himself and in how many separate indictments will he cause himself further harm?

And here it is. The one time I'll agree with you.
Trump wimped out of the debate and Tucker Carlson is going to help him pull eyeballs away from all the non-felony indicted candidates. So instead of an evening of DeSantis wiping the floor with Trump we're going to hear Trump say, "I don't need to debate those guys and if I was there I'd be totally winning the debate". Instead the morons at the RNC are letting Byron Donalds sit in for Trump.
If Trump doesn't want to be there, then he doesn't deserve a sub, either. But nope. Losers gonna lose.

I've criticized Trump many times and I didn't vote for him in 2020.
But, it's not chicken, it's smart.
With that big a lead - nothing good comes from debating asterisks.

I get why he did it, yup.
For the record, I think he cruises toward the nomination, runs a stupid campaign where he says "2020 was stolen" instead of focusing on what made him a good President prior to COVID and contrasting that with Biden's one dumb thing after another.
By the time the general rolls around his unfavorables will be north of 60%, Biden will have campaigned from his basement the entire time and just let Trump go out and say dumb stuff. And Trump will lose again only this time it won't be by 40k votes in 5 states, it'll be by several million.
And then the piledriving of the nation really starts in 2025 because the dems will think they have a mandate, which they won't.

Of course he did, chickening out is his brand.
Instead he's gonna do an interview with Tucker.
Yeah this Tucker...
"I hate him (Trump) passionately." ~Tucker Carlson
"We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can't wait." ~Tucker Carlson
"The last four years. We're all pretending we've got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it's been is too tough to digest.
But come on. There isn't really an upside to Trump." ~Tucker Carlson

-----------
If there was a way to harness the negative karmic energy trapped in the cynicism and hypocrisy in that room, it could run the air conditioners in Houston for a month.
I'm betting the interview will be held in a hall of mirrors so they can simultaneously scare the bejeezus out of themselves AND brag about what a huge audience they had at the same time.
WTH

Actually, Dope, I think Trump -for once- was smart. He doesn't want to be in public answering questions. I'm sure his lawyers don't want that either. Even if the debates should be about policy, they never really are. (They're not even actual debates, or at least not any format that I ever learned when I was in school.) Other candidates will find ways to bring up the indictments, and Trump doesn't want to have to answer/retort.
Honestly, and somewhat puzzlingly, he's still way out ahead in the Rep polls, so I doubt skipping the debates will hurt him much. I suspect he will be the Rep nominee (unless he suddenly plummets in the polls...but if indictments do make that happen, I don't know what would).

OCD: if indictments DON'T make that happen...
